Spinal Injection Treatment

Also, x- For the purpose of spinal injections, a thin needle is placed down on the target point and a mixture of corticosteroid and anesthetic drugs are injected into the patient. Also, it is possible to inject ozone gas with the same needle. After the procedure, the patient is observed for approx. 30 minutes. It is advised for the safety of the patient that he/she should be accompanied with a relative to home and rest for 24 hours.

What Are the Common Methods of Injection?

The preferred methods of injection for the treatment of the spinal diseases are as follows:

  • Epidural and transforaminal injections
  • Nerve root blockages
  • Sacroiliac joint injections
  • Facet joint injections

These spinal injections are applied to the patients whose functions have been limited due to severe pain. Also, the patients who struggle to sleep due to severe pain, have failed to get results from physiotherapy or medication treatment,

are at risk for surgery, or want to avoid surgery are eligible to get spinal injections. Generally, in addition to all above, the pain is caused by the herniated disks, joints, muscles or a combination thereof. In case of complaint, a physician should identify the causes of the pain and the potential method of injection by reviewing the patient’s MRI results.
